The Pinch Hitter Era In ODI Cricket

The Pinch Hitter Era In One day International Cricket
Yeah in the instance cricket term it was the team New Zealand who introduced the thrilling terms of Pinch Hitter. Yes that was Mark Greatbatch who was an average batsman who by stratagy promoted by the Captain John Right and that experiment brought revolution in one day international cricket. We know one day is completely an entertaining format which aim was to draw the common fans who only want to entertain in this and that manner and also those kind of fans for whom the time was previous and the Test match was going bit monotonous due to match often ended in nervous draw and for days they don’t want to linger on and despite that the match remained result less .
To make this F50 format more thrilling the ICC made some laws like filed restriction up to beginning ten overs that later known as power play for both the team as per the will of the captains.
Then during 1992 world cup the team New Zealand introduced the pinch hitting tradition and in that it gone great success when an ordinary class batsman M Greatbatch made hard hitting at the beginning overs and fixed the complex of the match I’m the prime stage. The pinch hitter might be the all rounder of average standard or the bowler who comes at the slog overs and contributed five or ten run scarcely on cost of double deliveries on comparison of his score.
Yeah this format made some ordinary cricketers as the great ones . Pioneer M Greatbatch, S Jaisurya, S. Watson ,Sachin ,J Ryder, MS Dhoni, G Maxwell ,K Pollard ,C. Gayle ,S Afridi and B Mccullum are the marvellous examples of this craze and outclassed term.
I said these all ordinary though some are stunning and maestros of batting but on which slot they did charisma is outstanding . Yeah these all ones used to bat at 1st,2nd ,3rd down or as the tail enders but they flashed out brilliantly as an opener by playing role of pinch hitter . By promotion the pinch hitter’s religion is only hard hitting and smashing mercilessly whether ball is of any length and variety. If the pinch hitter gets out then there is no matter because it’s just a gamble and part of the team’s stratagy. Sachin ,Afridi,Jaiysurya remained great successful as the pinch hitters. Yes particularly S Jaysurya who was a leg spinner and used to come as the tail ender at 8 th or 9th place and contributed 5 or ten run hardly but at the opening place as the pinch hitter he changed complex of the match many a times and through his great career amassed 13000 runs.
In IPL Sunil Narrain of West Indies has been used as the pinch hitter and played some excellent innings though he is a spinner and ordinary batsman. From india K R Shrikant also used as pinch hitter but remained less succeeded . But ok now a days in one days this term is disappeared. S Afridi did great job as the pinch hitter. This term is a special part of the team’s strategy but it’s a one kind of gamble and risky . I mean no guarantee of success and if the pinch hitter gets out earlier the pressure traps the following batsman. But it should be used for big entertainment.
