For The Nation Representation Is Utmost Pride !

National representation is proud but all time testing
( To fulfill nationals’ spirit it is always tougher like a sword on the neck)
To play for the own nation is always proud and exciting. Whatever the game represent isn’t matter. To be play for national side is always glorified because whole nation well connected with you and your performance directly and indirectly. If you perform well you become the hero for the nation and if perform badly people take you as a villain though it is only the game. But the fans and the sheer patriotic people take it heavily on heart and they hoot out the customer for it . In this respect the example of MS Dhoni is so thinkable because people treated badly with him and his family particularly by the fans who were annoyed because of MS Dhoni and his team’s performance in the world cup . The people who lifted him once on the shoulders snugged him and attacked over his home and some one pelted stones . If as individual recipient you win you are considered as the hero and if lose people get shocking . The defeat of the player as the individual or to be the part of the team is much matter than the player or players of a club ,league ,practice ,1st class or showbiz contest like an amateur or of private contract like Kerry Pecker and IPL contests.
When you play as an amateur you enjoy the game and have no kind of worry while to be part of the national team and representative as the personal for the national for any event. Being national representative for any squad there are lot of expectations from you by your nationals fans and non fans. So to have the performance you are in a big pressure. If the player doesn’t remain successful you are sacked by the selection board. Money isn’t big matter in this respect but the status is greater for the players and player in the nation’s concern.
I am presenting these logics in the game of cricket because I have read the articles about some greats in which they are compared with statistics and some other inner and outer aspects of the game and in the players’ respect.
I have read articles- Who is great Sunil Gavaskar or Viv Richards and second Gavaskar vs Greg Chappal and the third Gavaskar vs Virender Sehwag. And under these the writers have presented different kinds of views to justify greatness of one over other. Under it many points are digested while some not. And it is universal fact that to make comparison between two players or persons of contemporary or different eras is difficult and having logic we can not justify with those greats.
Firstly I talk about Sunny Gavaskar and Vivian Richards . Yes both are Test cricket’s greats and I would talk only on the Test cricket because it is only the real form of cricket where the player is tested at all fronts though after so called famous or infamous cricket series of Body Line in which the British skipper D Zardin made strategic to win the ashes Urn against their arch rival Australia in which His bowlers had been said to target the body particularly shoulders and head and targeted leg side by pitching bouncers or rising deliveries by placing most of the fielders at the leg side or near to the batsman around for catching position. But it was condemned and due have that fuss the Cricket Body changed the rules in bouncers ,beamers and fielders as well. At that time the rules were bowlers proned so survive cricket and to keep interest to cricket of the fans the rules were amended time by time. The world of cricket saw many dramas time by time under it the infamous under arm delivery of Trevor Chappal and the steel made bat by D Lilly.
And in present the game cricket is its high pick to have professional approach. And due have it the F50 and T20 format has introduced by giving less combative and much entertaining only to draw non conservative fans . Those kind of fans do not like that the batsman out. To be make out whole team of 11 the bowlers just need 10 balls and if such thing happens then the match would end in an hour. But to make runs the batrer needs more deliveries. So entertainment point of view most of the rules have made in the favour of the batsmen. So limited cricket has introduced as T20 and F50 by limited rules mostly in favour of the batsmen.
Now I come on the main point of comparison of Gavaskar and Richards . When the all time great Test eleven is talked that we find many cricket’s greats ,critics , commentators ,historians, statisticians’ Elevens. And under it we find the different choice. Contemporary greats ,fans ,experts, commentators , umpires and critics have preferred most of the players of their time while present generation prefers only the present greats of the game.
SUNNY is measured lesser great than Viv Richard because his most runs came against the average bowling side of West Indies and Australia and when he faced Imran then Imran wasn’t on his pick. But by observing the record of all the contemporary greats batting average too was average . And due to the Kerry Packer the WSC in which most of the leading pacers and spinners and batsmen were engaged in it where 14 matches were played and that performance isn’t authentic but by the critics it is counted and in which Richards stayed high and G Chappal too performed highly but mind that was just entertaining cricket just like IPL and Big Bash and that’s it except it .
So this norm is not digested where only the money was matter not the patriotism. In almost World Elevens Viv Richards name is as the middle order batsman found unarguably or unanimously but for the opening slot there are many names by different selector. Yes these are Berry Richards ,Glen Tener, Denis Amis, G Grinidge, D Haryana, G Gooch, J Boycott, B Posford, Claim Hill, Victor Trumper, W G Grace ,Hanif Mohammed, H Stucliff, J Hobbs, L Hutton, V Sehwag and S Gavaskar. So for the opening slot there is great competition having maximum claimers. Different people different choice rest this and that way to have their own stands. But here only the Test match of authentic world body must be all and ultimate fixture norm to decide any one’s greatness. Sunny Gavaskar’s record as well as Viv Richard record is not emphatic against Lilly ,Thompson , Pasko and M Walker.Yes Richard has played some great innings but partly and in an unauthentic events that had only the professional approach not the inner pressure of sheer patriotism of your home fans.
If we take this kind of tourneys then we can comprise all the nations’ domestic formats in which we find many cricketers who have envious or ample record but ah this kind of record isn’t counted when the comparison is made whether that tournament is toughes or not. There is no norms and authenticity this kind of record . The county cricket of England , Shaffileld Shield are considered so levelled or international standard but domestic mirror is domestic and grand farther to International standard . Such as the Fifa Major World Cup is Fifa World Cup others are party against it. Even European League, Copa Cup but the greatnes is only measured by the World Cup performance.
So i conclude about Sunil Gavaskar who was from Brown World and to have his class and record batting the white umpires did have partiality. Yes so he was adjudged LBW and snick out couple of the occasions. Like in Banglore against Pakinstan, in Pakistan in Australia ,etc. Yes as far my memory and reading-watching base i am saying it. In this reference the great example is when Sunny was on magnificent 70 against Greg Chappal’s Australia but at this high pitch Sunny was adjudged wrongly by the umpire very intensionally because Lilly was striving for a wicket to equal highest wicket tally. Gavaskar had earned name for his gentleness before this worst happening. In that era many were accepted and criticised the worst umpiring . There was an umpire from Pakistan yes Shakur Ranaa who remained so infamous for his worst umpiring. If in that Sydney Test Gavaskar would not be given out wrongly then Sunny would play a big innings and india would enjoy a big victory instead of a marginal victory. And the stain not to perform good against D Lilly by S Gavaskar would not be buzzed. Finally i rest down my pen by saying Sunny was a silent fear for the bowlers while Viv was the open fear for the bowlers . One was worry how to make out while other can be out any time. Through the striking to ball well so very rarely Viv missed out but can be pile or also not but Gavaskar yes to be pile up sure and sure. Yes one is steady like tortoise other is like fiery hawk. And both are equally great. Richard was aggressive and attract spectators but defense is the soul of the Test and real nature of the Test is taken time. Only spectatoors and professional point of view the Test is made limited by 5 days otherwise who can stay long in the batting would considered great along with copy book style stroke made runs.
