India is in the action in the game cricket since 1932. And we know at that time india was not a freed nation and there was the British Rule over it. But it was great that team india got the right to play as the Test nation and its international recognization means a lot for the indian fans . Since 1932 indian cricket produced many great batsmen who buzzed a lot at the global level and gave india a great glory . Since the start if we count the batsmen then the list wouldn’t go more than 30. Though since 1932 to 2021 305 Cricketers have played as the batsman,bowler or all-rounder . Yeah the 1st batsmen from india who gave the international reckon is Vijay Merchant ,then Vijay Hazare . Yes these two were very talented batsmen and despite a short career they have left their imprints n the batting arena.
Then Polly Umarigar left his imprints as the batter . And follow Vijay Manjarekar, Nawab Pataudi ,Dilip Sirdesai. And in the decade of 80s great Sunil Gavaskar , GR Vishwanath,Deelip Vengsarkar . And in the decade of 2 K to 2K1 a wonder boy Sachin Tendulkar, Azharuddin,Rahul Dravid ,S Ganguly ,V Sehwag ,VVS Laxman buzzed a lot as the batsman but among these Sachin and R Dravid got international reputation as the solid and reliable batsman. But among these all only two names are often come to discussion for the all time great Eleven . Yeah they are Sunil Gavaskar as the opening slot and S Tendulkar as the 2nd Down batsman. And it’s a great point of glory for the indian fans. These two are the classic batsman and their stats are so prosperous. The critics ,veteran greats, commentators , statisticians and
fans often make the all time great Test Eleven to have their stands and in these all time great Elevens India’s Sunny Gavaskar and Sachin Tendulkar get their place in it and it’s the great proud and pleasure for the nation india and particularly the fans of cricket.
Thus in the cricket history of 88 years india have two jewel in the field of batting arena . These two batsmen have high cadre when the all time greats and their greatness is discussion. Though Rahul Dravid ‘s stats are emphatic after Sachin ,the great and Virat Kohli’s statistics are also very impressive but we have to await his career finishing but so far up to 90 plus Test he has proven his greatness but the figures are counted ultimately when the cricketer finished his career. Let see the stats of Vivian Richards were very high but at the end of career his batting average got reduced and such as Virat Kohli’s batting average was up to 60 but but couple of the years his batting average is descended . VVS Laxman’s batting average is also plus 45 and has one of the most impressive Test innings in the winning concerned and that innings is evaluated as the best ones and under top five. Virender Sehwag too left his worthy marks and despite of attacking and less footwork has the envious record of two triples and one just 7 runs short to triple when he was caught and bowled by Muthaiyaa Muralidharan and his batting average is also 49 plus despite aggressive opening batsman . But these cricketers do not considered as the all time greatest . India have destined a great all-rounder as Kapil Dev but he isn’t in the list of all time greatest ever. Anil Kumble too scalped lot of wickets as the spinner but isn’t considered as the all time greatest .
The real legend of cricket Sir Don Bradman when was alive saw both the talents and he himself praised these two batsmen and it is enough to reveal these two ones’ greatness. And the critics and cricket fraternity too stamped these two batters’ greatness . Sunil Gavaskar’s role model was ML Jaysuryaa and Sachin’s role models remained Sunil Gavaskar and Viv Richards who were as the batters the synonyms of defense and attack gradually.
