Is It The National Pressure ?

Yeah there is A and THE great pressure ever for the the player when he plays for his nation’s team or side. The player faces an extra hyper tension and pressure yes when the player represents from his nation’s side . But when the player plays at the domestic level or so called at the first class from his zone, province or state side he doesn’t face any kind of pressure except his own . Yeah when the player represents his nation’s side it is very tough to handle the situation because there is very hyper pressure of fans’ nationality or patriotism because each national and fan wants only the win and win and big performance from the player .
Yeah this is the reason that despite a great talent and high performance in the demostic and First Class level the performance of the player at the international level is seemed very ordinary. Yes there are many cricketers whose performances are huge in the FC or at the domestic format but at the highest level or international level they couldn’t keep their high calibre and so not ranked as the greats. So the statistics of the player matters only at the international level. Yes at the domestic level you are pressured but only with yourself while at the first class level you have pressure of selectors’ eyes and mindset and for the selection needs to impress them by your compact and undisputed performance . But at the international level you have different kinds of direct and indirect pressures. But utmost pressure is of patriotic attachment of the fans with the game so its result affects the common people and its devoted lovers because they take it seriously. Yes for the great performance for his country the player is made hero by the fans and his nationals and for the poor performance the player is made villain for them. So at the international stage handling the pressure is very
difficult because bones and nerves spirited emotions are attached with the fans , common and uncommon people of the nation . The patriotism tide is at its height when someone’s nation play at the international level . And so so many players can’t handle the extra pressure despite have big talent . In this regards there are many examples.
Yes England’s FC levelled giant Greame Hick who was rocking at that slat and selected for his national team to represent at the international level. But alas at the International Level G Hick’s performance remained so meagre . And alas the performance at the International level is only the chief base to measure the greatness of any player and depite big statistics at the FC level the player isn’t counted and considered as the great. And the list of this kind of examples are greater in Cricket. Yeah Alan Kippax the Aussie was a big stylish batsman of his time whose FC level performance is greater but alas at the Test Match level his statistics do not justify.
From indian domestic stage there are many biggies but at the international level remained so timid. Yes Badrinath,Hemant Badani, Rishikesh Kanitkar, Wasim Jafer and Ajay Sharma are one of them who couldn’t prove their selection at the highest level.
