Festoon Fest Yeah Day After Diwali Under Five Festivals’ Bunch

Diwali is the most emphatic and pompous fest of India particularly for the Hindu people . It is the most
awaiting festival that comes to have the bunch of fest days yeah five in the row as Dhanteras, Roopchoudas, Diwali,Khekra and Bhai Dooj . Yeah the day after Deepavali the day of so called Khekara fest ( The 1st day of Vikram Calendar Of India ) as the new year according to Viram Samvat. Yeah there are two calendars that the indian Hindu people follow that is Vikram Samvat and Shak Samvat. The Vikram Samvat is important for the merchandise fraternity in which the traders begin their new account in the account book or ledger . But for the common Hindu people it’s the day of special hello or wish each other on account of the new dawn and the trend of meet each other whole day and flourish brotherhood and distribute joys to each other . Yeah the desserts are served to the guests with extravaganza. But the real fest height the day has is the Govardhan Pooja. Yeah it means the worship of cows. Cows are considered as the big property and the holier devotional spirit is already added with them due to Lord Krishan’s favourite animal and also due to Kamadhenu and Nandini yeah the divine heavenly cows . So cow is considered as the mother and people call it as the Gomata in the language Hindi. Yes on the day of Govardhan Pooja the cows and bullocks are well equipped and dressed yeah I mean they are illuminated by colourful paint yeah their horns and skin and there is decorated garlands and embedded
animal jewellery of its kind that increased the beauty of the animals . Yes all the decorated animals are carried there at the out side of the village ground . Yes where the two trees or poles are stood at both the side of the edges of the road in a parallel cemetery row. And there a fastoon of grass, twigs,colourful rags and flowers which is totally hand made by the tribal masters with extra fashion and passion which is almost 200 feet long and one feet thick . Yes by worshipping under the traditional rite that festoon is tied up on both the side’s of the trees or poles with great rejoicing and relishing . Yeah
the drums are played by the people and trumpeted of shrilling Shehnai all around with bang . People dance in the traditional style and folk lores are sung by the intoxicated people . There is so much hustle and bustle and echoing heights all around. Most of the people are in drunken condition as celebrating the revel.
Thus all are in swinging height of joy. Yeah there is shrilling , yelling,shouting with queering and enthusiastic louds . Now then the most trilling moments come when the flock of the cows that is gathered there on the big open field or ground eating grass . Yes people start high drumming ,play pungi ,ringing dishes and during that the village leader or tribal leader gives indication according to the omen time or muhurat the people start throwing the fireworks or crackers in the flock of cows to dislodge . Due to blast of several crackers the stampede created in cows’s flock . The vernimilan is throwing above the sky to make people ecstatic and cows to be foggy and the cows start running blindly . There are huge crowd at both the side of the road and many people are laced with long stick to prevent cows to injure people . The crackers are thrown in big numbers and the cows rush so speedily . What is interesting at that time . Yeah people throw crackers in the feet of the cows yes to stop intensionally this and that . Why because people want a certain coloured cow would come ahead and cross the festoon. Yes in their sense that there are four or five kinds of the cows yes to have colour . Yes white , green , maroon,gray, black ,etc. And people prefer only the green cow all ahead to all these cows . They want that only the green coloured cow would cross the festoon first . Because of religious belief that the day is the new year and according to the farmers’ families the rain is all important for growing ,croping . That there is a belief that the colour of the cow is big matter . The farmers want that the green cow would cross the festoon. It is so because green colour is the symbol of good rainy year ,white colour cow is medium year and the brown colour average year but the black colour cow alas the symbol of draught or femine. So people go madden to stop other coloured cows to go cross the festoon. And after all efforts if green cow goes across the festoon then a wave of joy is spread all over and people congrat each other that this year would be good for them . And then all people and animals returned in a procession to have spiritual height and material joys by dancing ,hooting,
shouting,singing ,etc.
Thus the fastoon ceremony takes place. Though on thing is minus point there that is the violation of the innocent animals where the firecrackers are thrown and hurt them ,disturb them . You the people enjoy but they get suffered without reason and the reason what you have is fulfilled your selfishness and shallow entertainment.
So the think tank should initiative in this sense that no animal would suffer . According to me show them the bundle of grass that the cows follow the people and then the cow rush to get grass or put the grass across the fastoon by barricading and show the grass to the cows and then return back at the ground and then do drive them for the grass . This process should be practice 5 or ten time before the festoon ceremony that on the pointed day all the cows would rush there to eat the grass . Thus the treachery to the innocent cows wouldn’t be seen in the ritual process or fest ceremony. Such as the Festoon fest the Jallikuttam fest is in the trend of indian hindu cult at the big level and some animal lovers lodged writ to stop it on the name of animal cruelty.
