◆ Yes on more point to be mind here about Henry Wood that he was born on December,1853 and he got debut in August, 1888 so he played his first Test at the age of 35 years and 8 month and he played international level for 4 years (1888 to 1892) and during these 4 years span he played only 4 Test matches and in his last two innings scored 68 and 134 not out . It means he played his last Test at the age of 41. So the cricketer showed his class at the grand age 41where the cricketers often strive and struggle for the form and fitness . Yes in the FC his batting performance is poor but his keeping stats are rich . And at the highest or international level Henry Wood proved his batting class and his keeping class is already proven in the FC so I put mr Henry Wood at the 1st Rank in the Wicketkeeper cum Batsmen . If we overlook the minimum 20 innings standard quality criteria then Henry Wood’s batting average 68 is still rest at the highest and Herbert Sutcliffe rests 2nd in the batting average.
