Mr Right Is Infamous For Right ,Why…. ?

“Mr Right Proven Wrong !’
{ On Mr Gavaskar – Lillee 1981 episode and infamous walkout decision of Sunil Gavaskar as the captain in the MCC , Australia }
India is in its tour there in Australia
to play Border-Gavaskar Trophy series . There India’s most prolific opening batsman Sunil Gavaskar is as the commentator. Gavaskar was a big writer during his cricket days and after retiring a renowned article writer , columnists, critic and expert . When India and Australia would meet and that infamous cum famous wouldn’t be remembered how could it be possible ! And the media always try too to strip this hot topic. Gavaskar would have already expressed sorryfullness on it . What was the reality ? Why did the gentleman got furious or lost out his control ? Yeah , he rectified that the decision of umpire was very wrong because that was bat before strucking on the pad. The umpire was novice and that was bias decision. For the umpire it was only the third International match and there was lack of experience and the third sense in the decision making. Denis Lillee was on the verge of 250 Test wicket and the native or home viewers were awaiting that historic moment so eagerly. The pair of Indian openers were rooted firmly and the lead of Australia was about to reduce and the team Australia was looking in trouble and needed essential breakthrough. And it was the Australian umpire who got bias and raised finger. At that time S Gavaskar was traped on the pad but that was bat and pad. But alas the umpire adjudged LBW in haste or intensionally. S Gavaskar stayed on the crease and tried to clear the reality. And by reacting and cursing he was on his way to pavilion as per the rule but there were big insulting reactions and comments over SM Gavaskar that provoked him to walk over with partner Chetan Chouhan.
. He just tried to let the reality and reacting it a is wrong decision. The world knows S M Gavaskar was one of the batsmen who couldn’t await umpires finger when he was indeed out. Before the finger raising he used to leave the crease at once. But on that day he protested and whole the Australian players too interfere and enforced out that Sunny is out. Particularly bowler D Lillee reached close to Gavaskar and let him try to show that the ball struck here on the pad. Sunny cleared yes but it was bat and pad. At that moment the fuss soared highly when the bowler remarked – Get Lost. In the game of cricket or any the umpire’s decision is ultimate and the players must have obeyed it whether it would be right or wrong. In cricket opposite team players can make appeal for out by saying – How is that ? Then umpire or umpires take decision but alas the batsman can’t be made the appeal in the case of raising finger by the umpire. At that time there was no fair umpiring and host side’s umpires were the umpire . To observe too much disputed umpiring Pakistan’s great Imran Khan emphasised on the neuter umpiring and after conceiving so closely and sincerely the supreme body of cricket world the ICI applied the system. And thus umpiring standard improved a bit because the man is effigy of error. And the blunders were on its natural or partial way to favour this and that team and particular players. And later with the time the modern technology came as the miracle and TV umpire and referee and DRS system brought revolution and is on and due to it many cricketers career improved . And despite great technology the errors are inevitable because the technological devices are made by the erred man not by God. But no doubt comparatively to the past happening the condition is better.
Here the point to be minded that the Gavaskar-Lillee episode is called infamous. Why …? At that point Sunil Gavaskar was right and he had right to prove right for wrong decision. He revealed his strong reaction against the LBW decision. He was a big player the then and dare to protest against LBW decision. And the point fielder was the closest witness of it but the point fielder didn’t jump because it was the question of his team and nation . For the truth he couldn’t betray with his nation’s fans and for the sake of patriotism the fielder remained dumb. And it was sure that the reaction or objection of Gavaskar before the umpire and the opposite team didn’t have right to jump into the fire. When the umpire’s call was final the then ,then why the G Chappal and company invoked into the matter. They just needed to watch and wait. If there would be taken any legal action then including SM Gavaskar the whole Australian team might be penalized for indisciplined act. Mr D Lillee got irritated and rushed to mr Gavaskar to clarify that the ball was struck here . Yes D Lillee had right to react as the bowler but only against the umpire but umpire declared decision on his favour then no need to discuss with Gavaskar. D Lillee needed to know that there couldn’t be change the umpire’s decision. And if it would be happened then that was the first and the rarest incident of cricket history. At that time mr umpire had to listen Gavaskar and introspect for a while and must discuss with the point filedler and observed out his body language that was he speaking rightly or fakely. Mr umpire had to get opinion of his partner umpire. And on the sake of sheer insulting word -Get Lost , the umpire must have turned his decision by saying ,”Yes , I have made mistake in the decision making and I do turn this decision into the favour of mr Right Sunil Gavaskar. But we know that episode made SM Gavaskar defame and the incident is so called ‘ infamous episode’.
Mr Gavaskar was right but for the incident regretted many a times. And the result of the Test match reveals all the truth that mr Gavaskar was true or right in his case otherwise how could the opposite as the host bundle out under 100. That was the anger of the God so the Aussies lost the match despite the solid condition. The double century maker mr captain G Chappal got out on zero and whole the team collapsed like the heap of play cards. But ultimately we the that the episode is known as infamous in the history of cricket world . And mr. Gentleman of the game alas has the black stain unfairly. The boss ICC must have to review it with experts of that time including the opposite team members, umpires and TV review and must declare Sunny Gavaskar as mr clean. Then it would be the great honour of the game cricket and also a great SM Gavaskar.
