[ On Jeffery Thompson- The Fastest Bowler Of Test Cricket ]

According to the commentators ,
experts of the game,sports media persons, the contemporary batsmen cricketers, cricket critics , fans of the Thompson Era Geoff Thompson of Australia is arguably the fastest ever speedster bowler of the Test arena. He could generation 160 plus bowling speed and could bowl to keep 150 plus bowling speed. He played only 51 Test and took exact 200 Test wickets. His bowling average is 28:00 exactly. And according to the standard criteria to measure the best 50 bowlers yes he has the place but his name isn’t inducted in the best 25 bowlers because the criteria is decided 25 bowling average and sorry this giant isn’t comprised in that envious and prideful annexure .
Here I point out the prior result behind extravagant bowling average.
Jeff Thompson was not only the fast bowler but fatal also. He used to bowl with lethal, genuine and sheer pace with certain bounce . And the specified batsmen used to play him with all attentively and seriously. Despite that many ones used to get hurt on Thomu’s delivery. But the point to be mind is that the unspecified batsmen used to play his deliveries blindfoldedly or blindly due to fear, unjudged , haste and less technique. So there were edges come in its ways and the ball often went across the boundary . And many a time the ball came with bullet speed to the fielder so they could not field well and the ball passed across the boundary line. One more deep point that due to maximum speed of the delivery when nooks or edeges had come the fielder couldn’t catch the ball and the batsman not had got life or chance but also got the run. So his tally is 200 Test wickets in 51 Test with 28 bowling average. To see the sheer or terrific pace of Jeffery Thompson his bowling average should be under 20 like M Marshall ,Goel Garner, C Ambrose but alas the giant paceman’s bowling average is 28. And so his worthy name is not comprised in the top 50 bowlers of the Test arena . The ICC statisticians ,expert and evolutionars have fixed it 25 . So many great bowlers who have just point one ( 0.1)above from 25 are sorryfully ousted from the giants’ list of bowlers. The tailenders often play non- cricketing shot or half- hearted shot and that shot goes in the uncertained direction and ball passes close or nearer to the fielders or where there is no fielders . In this way they get one or two boundaries in bonus and most of the time they are preyed by the speedster but on spoiling the economy . On the speedsters deliveries the catches come with very sharp speed and by being so vigilant can hold the catch . Here through this count I do say that Jeff Thompson was more effective ,stingy and deadliest pacer of the Test arena. On the testimonial yes he is not professor but in real he is above vice- Chancellor. In india to be professor or university lecturer 55 % is must at least in PG level so the candidate is eligible to fight or participar in the competition. Here i do not understand and raise the point that when you have competition for being lecturer or professor then why does the system have fixed 55 % at least . And if the candidate has 54.99 alas according to the norms not entitled for the college lectureship. If any candidate seeks the Court and claims that he has only point one percent less he should be considered eligible for the combat. But the court would say ….. . No, absolutely no because you have 0.1 percent less and it is against the law. 0.1 means a lot according to the mathematics. So sorry to be entitled you should appear again in the PG and need to gain 55 % exactly in your master degree . So I conclude that in real face J Thompson was threatening and unplayable genuine fast bower. The certain metaphor must be used for this violent speedster- Shoyab Akhtar was as fast as the Jeffery Thompson. According to the speed machine J Thompson adjudged the fastest at that time but according to his contemporary cricketers he was more faster than he measured because at time the cameras and the speed machine wasn’t quality prone as today. According to the former greats F Tyson was even quickest than J Thompson but at that time the world was at the nursery of technology. If we attend the marginal average difference in bowling then two bowling great persona Bob Willis and A Roberts have slight margin to 25 and can’t be placed in the list of great bowler according to the Wisden and some evalunars. Bob Willis’s bowling average is 25.20 and A Roberts’ bowling average is 25.61.
But okay the criteria is criteria and we can’t go above or cross this parameters. But apart from the criteria there are many things that are above from the reality . That kinds of things can be said abstract noun and could be understood only by watching and feeling face to face. If I say Sunil Gavaskar was greater popular figure than Sachin but the present generation can’t be agreed because it is beyond their thinking but I have seen ,read. Despite not having TV and Social media he was famous abundencely .
So missing greatness both the stalwarts by a slight margin and sorry for it. And to be human figure the bowling average must be under 20 is the real criteria for the greatest bowlers . And longevity and wicket tally ( At least 200 test wickets and 50 Test ) is also the subject for measuring the greatness of the bowlers. Sometimes miracles happen or take place yeah bowler like Hirwani,Kumble ,Messi take 15 plus wuckets in a test . Some time the bowler gets wicket due to poor wicket,condition and the poor level id the batsman and sometimes due have luck .
