Bestest Test Cricket Captain ?!

Best Captain Of Test Cricket
Yeah to be the captain of any team is the wealthy status but of the national team is so dignified and prideful. It’s very adorable as well as the challenging job. To be the captain of national team gives you the international reputation . The importance of the captain in the game cricket is utmost rather than other games’ captains . In the other games the role of the captain is just formal but in the game of cricket
It’s not formal but it is most dominating post. Yeah wether you lose or win the media hover around and over you and the fans accredited (fame/defame) all to you. As a captain you are hero and the villain as well. We have seen that the cricket fans not Dhoni’s fans reached out out side his home and threw pebbles and stones over his home because they were angry to MS Dhoni because India lost the World Cup Semifinal . Yes the fans forgot that that man won the World Cup for your nation. So fans are liked the bosses who never loyal to the employees.
Yeah how is the captaincy challenging in cricket than other games ? Yes ,it is so because the Test Match is played for 5 days . So it is like a war which is not ended in a day so to win or to fight well as the captain you need the strong
strategy according to the strength of the opposition and your own potential. For it as the captain you need to know all pluses and minuses of the rival and of your team . As the captain you need to have all the knowledge of the game even micro facts and factors related to the game. The strategy is prepared Off the field and might be need to change in the ground On the field according to the demand of the game so there in the field you as the captain need to be appropriate and sharp in the decisions . Yeah you need to be shrewd as well as defensive and moderate as per the situation.Yes what are the Off field challenges for the captain. Yes the 1st challenge is to select the final playing Eleven. Yes 2nd the pitch reading. The 3rd the atmosphere and climate reading of the ground, day and the spectators. Spectators …. why….. because suppose the spectators of some stands are from one particular lobby and rough in the behaviour and attitude. Yes then you need to place there a calm customer as the fielder . I mean not a short tempered fielder but a digestive , prudent and calm fielder . Yes at the Toss the prior decision to elect bat first or invite the rival bat first or bowl first. Yes if you miss there to take appropriate decision then are to be suffered or must have to suffer criticism of not only the critics but also your fans. Then the challenges on and on yes start from the batting order. Though the batting order is to be fixed as per the specification but according to situation it gets changed . Yes , imagine one specialist opening batsman or 1st down might be in the 1st or 2nd innings got injured ,unwell or in other case at the critical hostile circumstances when team would be in a trouble then it is very important to promote the right batsman. Yes in this regards there are some big examples . Yes once Frank Warrel was the captain and he promotes himself to take onus for the team and he slams century and uplifts his team . Another prosperous example in this concerned is that MS Dhoni the captain of the indian team in the World Cup 2011 who promoted himself at the crucial situation in the World Cup Final-2011 vs Shri Lanka when India had lost 3 prime wickets only on 114 and then by joining G Gambhir played a heroic innings of 91runs by facing only 79 balls and by hitting six won the match and the World Cup for the nation.
But there are imprudent
examples when the captain took indigestible decision.
Yes in this belt the raw or immature but aggressive captain Kapil Dev is cursed when india’s big batting maestro Sunny Gavaskar was on splendid 236 not out in the Chennai Test Match against mighty West Indies then captain Kapil Dev declared the innings while the result point of view nothing was left in the match but by declaring Kapil invited West Indies and futilely waged the fielding for 23 overs for two and a half hour. India put only 138 runs’ lead and had to make the West Indies out to win by one innings. And to make out West Indies under or on 138 run was impossible because that was the Test match and batting conditions were not hostile. It was the 3rd inning of the match and only 3 hours were rested to end the 5th day and the Test match. West Indies had to survive the match so the openers G Grinidge and D Hayans played steadily and lost one wicket as D Hayans(24 caught D Vengeserkar bold Ravi Shastri ) and then joined the next batsman L Gomes (10 n.o.)
and the match ended in the boaring draw. G Grinidge remained not out on 26. But as the bowler and captain Kapil Dev was so excited to be overconfident tried and not understood the condition of the match that it is nonsense . He was over hoping to get happened the miracle like Lord’s final of 25 th June,1983 when India under his captaincy survived only 183 runs and unbelievably bundled out West Indies only on 164 run and won the maiden World Cup for nation India.. But Kapil had to think that that was ODI and Final in which he and his team and nation also was destined to win the Cup. But Kapil remained imprudent and in fobia I mean in illusion and declared all nonsensically . As the captain he was over excited at that stage and so couldn’t make prior decision. Though the decision was in the nation’s interest to get victory but it was impossible so he must have to think in the nation but the then in individual interest of Gavaskar that would give great joy to the fans and nationals . Yes envious as well as the glorious record in the nation’ s account that would proud india and fans for ever and if not then sure the spectators would be entertained and enthralled up to the end of the match because for Gavaskar 300 and for Kirmani 100 would possible but for india to make out West Indies under 138 was not possible. We know that 1983 Win was an accident or miracle and that kind of miracle happens only in the centuries. At that time C Lloyd and company was over confident and took rivals not seriously. Viv Richards was in so hurry and there were some bad umpiring decision too at the crucial point. We know once minnow Bangladesh have beaten mighty Australia that stunned the world. Yeah at that time captain Kapil Dev should have used his 7th sense and would have sent message or he himself needed to go in the ground to Sunny because the stature of Sunny Gavaskar was higher then him and was the senior most in the team also . And he should have said to Sunny that result point of view nothing is left so I thing you should go for Triple because it is very good opportunity to give a big glory to our nation by making triple century and also the great joy to the fans. But Kapil declared why isn’t understandable. The match ended in a nervous draw when indian bowlers could get only one wicket in 23 overs. And amazing after 10 overs Kapil gave up the spirit or surrendered that apart from the leading bowlers including Kapil ,R Shastri,Maninder Singh ,R Binni the non specialist bowlers Wicket Keeper Syad Kirmani,Navjot Singh, Dilip Vegserkar used as the bowler for formal ceremony. The West Indies made 63 run in the 23 overs .Yeah one
another big example of this kind that once Sachin Tendulkar was on 194 run and needed mere 6 runs to reach Double Hindered but captain Rahul Dravid suddenly declared and Sachin missed out a double century while there was lots of time for india to make Pakistan out. Though the message was sent to Sachin that be haste because the end of the game today we have to bowl at least 15 overs to Pakistan. And amazing when the declaration was made 16 overs were left. Sachin had demanded only 12 balls but Yuvraj blocked whole over and Sachin didn’t get strike.
Yeah under the challenges of the captain the field set , bowling alteration ,reckon the weakness of the batsmen and need to boost up, inspire up the bowlers and fielders and if have the seniors in the team then needs to take advice.
Yeah the question is who is the best captain of the Test Arena.Yes according to the statistics Steve Waugh is at the 1st, C Lloyd is 2nd, R Ponting 3rd , A Border 4 th , Greame Smith 5th….
But you know the bitter fact that the statistics do not reveal the truth always. And evaluation on the testimonials’ base is a different thing or the devil’s business .In this sense there is a big example that a high qualified professor is befooled by an illiterate villager by his extra wit . So IQ is a different thing and rotten knowledge is a different matter. So the question who is the best captain in the real sense. Yes I put Mike Brearley at the 1st rank to have a wealthy and sound illustration of his captaincy . Yes once there in the Ashes series there at Headingley Test in 1982 versus Australia the rival was in a very sound position in the 1st innings after winning the toss and bat first . And solid allrounder Ian Bothom was in depression because he was sacked as the captain because of not proven the standard as per the will of the selectors and also troubling with his great and sound form. Mike Breaekey was replaced Bothom as the captain. And when the match was slipping from the host or team England was not in a good position M Brearley read the striving position of his bowlers and fielders then he reads the body language and mentality of Bothom whom he was to deliver the bowling charge. Then at the moment the team skipper Mike Brearley gets sincere about the slipping , frustrating situation of his team . Yes he holds the ball in his hands to change the bowling . He thinks for a while and reaches to IT Bothom . Australia was in a sound position that it had scored 332 for 5 and there was well set pair of R Dyson and Kim Huge the captain of Australia. At the beginning of the Aussie innings I Bothom had removed G Wood one of the opener when the rival score was 55. But then he slides from his length and stranded by the captain by taunting. And other bowlers G Dilley, C Old and Bob Willis bowl but not worked as per the demand of the team. Team Australia was 332 /4 and G Yellop and Kim Huges were rooted and scoring freely. At that stage it was a challenge to remove or break the partnership of Hugues-Yellop. Then Mike Brearley decided to deliver the ball to I Bothom to bowl. But before it Mike Brearley speaks to Bothom. Bothom reacts what I to do at this diehard stage. You know I couldn’t be doing well. Why are you make me snapgoat. Deliver bowling charge to any another bowler because you know nothing has left for me and nothing is going in my favour now a days . The match is over controlled for us or our hands. Listening I Bothom calmly M Brearley says to Bothom, “Why are you thinking that nothing is left ? Why have you lost confidence and your capabilities ? Think that you are not Bothom who has lost the form think that you are that you are Bothom who stunned the Nation by his extraordinary performance. And think you are going to deliver the opening spell. And starting from Zero. And you need to bowl to have that spirit that passion. And it is the best opportunity for you to prove your extraordinary talent and quality again . And you need to know you have tremendous potential. And you are well capable to change the hostile circumstances single handedly in your, our favour as the all-rounder . And remember you can claim 5 wickets as the bowler and make century as a batter also . Very few cricketers have this kind of quality . Now go, God is with you and your potential, be determined and deliver as your best. Then I Bothom marches to bowl with heavy paces. And then what happened the World know. Australia declared 0n 401/9 but spirited Bothom. dismissed 5 wickets the then and totally claimed 6/ 95.
Feeling in a Driver Seat Team Australia ‘ s skipper declared on 401/9 and bundled out the host only on 174 thus the guest gets 227 runs’ big lead and feeling safe invites the host for follow on. Then England got bundled out only on 174 in which I Bothom remained the highest scorer by making vital 50 run. By following on the debacle was on for the team England but one sided I Bothom once again becomes saviour and scores 149 n.o. precious runs by remaining not out till the end of his team mates. G Dilley assisted well by making 56. Thus England could have set 129 runs’ slenty target for Australia to win the Test. But team England survived that thinner Target. It was a big history that by following on win the match by only 19 runs’ margin. It was proven Bothom’ s Match who claims 7 wickets and scores 199 run. Yeah at that uncontrolled situation in the 1st innings he took 5 wicket after getting motivation and in the 2nd the innings one wicket . And becomes hero of the match due to inner motivation of his captain M Brearley.
The hero of that feat was IT Bothom who claimed 6 dismissal in his favour in the 1st innings and 1 in the 2nd innings by conceding least runs. And his co-bowling partner but spearhead the speedster Bob Willis who was wicket less in the 1st innings too boosted up by his captain to say Bob show your class and potential . You know at this point you have great chance to give great pleased and vanity to our countrymen . The 129 run is enough to survive and we can bundle out them even before. Bob nods ,gets serious, resolute and murmuring- yes I can , I have to do then by taking 8 wickets on thrifty cost Bob awarded a great victory to his nation . So it is the most emphatic example of great leadership who inspires , provokes as well as energizes players to do the superior to destroy the rival to use their best approach. We know the game’s combat isn’t less than a war. And in the war the efficient leader or chieftain changes the result by his super guidance, individual bravery and strategy. We know about Zahiruddin Mohammad Baber whose soldiers were not ready to wage a war against brave Indians. The troop was in depression and wanted to return their homeland . Then chieftain Baber delivers a great speech of motivation and fills up energy and passion. And then we know the history. That address of Babar founded the Mughal dynasty in India and that rules over india for 250 years. Yeah we know about Alexander the great who was mighty emperor and was unbeatable but Nelson the commander in chief of Britain by using great and complex strategy fought a great war at Waterloo and Alexander was beaten by Nelson all unbelievably. So this unique example is enough to put M Brearley at the rank first in the meritorious list of great captains. Yes as the cricketer Mike Brearley wasn’t a big player but as the leader he was phenomenal. By profession M Brearley was a professor of philosophy and his preaching ,his philosophy, his intellectual play the role to boost up ,to prosper and promote his team. Yes Clive Llyod is the 2nd in the list as the big captain and his statistics are prosperous. C Lloyd who meditates after blowing unbelievable defeat against weaker India. And before it he was in worry that under his leadership his team was crushed by host Australia by 1-5. But the big blow by India there at the Port Of Spain shuddered him and he got serious and the devil’s idea flashed in his mind . The bitter memoirs of Thompson-Lillee was already in his mind that given the wound to him. So he searched fastest bowlers in the island and made his team powerful in the bowling strength . And in the batting department he had already good strength. He reunites the team of isles . His four speedsters were well capable to bundle out the opposition under 300 run and his batsmen were efficient to get lead . So C Lloyd didn’t spend his mind and blood much as the skipper and his warriors would do as per his thinking or planning. When your warriors are powerful then as the chieftain you need not get worry. But in my sense Douglas Jardin of England is the greatest captain and considered as the 1st professional captain of the Test Cricket Arena. Yeah what a professional approach he had and as the captain for win and giving pleasure to his countrymen and his patriotic spirit that enforced him to go vile and vice .
Though sorry for using scornful words vile and vice but by using these words his devil approach or in the indian mythological sense seer Shukrachary Philosophy. Yes to get prestigious Ashes from their arch rival Australia and to give pleasure and pride to his natives he prefers to go wild but it was fair because all was under the authentic Cricket Body’s legislature. Yes at that span Don Bradman was the amplest batting figure and he was rocking through his brilliant batting . His average was running over 100 the then and was unstoppable for the rival bowlers . So D Jardin under his great reach builds an awesome strategy to stop the Australian batsmen particularly The Don. And his two leading striker speedsters who had lethal and fatal pace bowls as per the command of their captain and succeeded and opponent Australia lost series by 1-4. The Body Line terrific bowling of H Larwood and Bill Voce was criticized by the cricket fraternity by saying it’s not fair. To win using this devil’s strategy isn’t liable . The short pitching deliveries injured many batsmen . It demoralised the game cricket. Cricket is the game of the elites and for winning this brutality isn’t good. But the strategy of D Jardin was quite legal and fair under the rules. So the condemnation wasn’t fair. And after all it was the game and likely the indirect warship where win is must and first and no one wants to lose the match. And in the game the grace isn’t possible. We know in the heavyweight bout the rivals showers hooks, punches, uppercuts each other under the rule and after result or knock out the winner sympathizes,
consoles the looser to have the sportsmanship or sportsman spirit. Yeah the lion can’t be pitied on its prey. Such as in the indian sense The Horse can’t make friendship with grass. So D Jardin was the correct captain and I put him at the first in the professional perception and M Brearley in the ethical sense. In that famous-infamous Bodyline Test series Don Bradman could keep his batting average 56.57 scarcely . Though H Larwood and Bill Voce such as Gubby Alen and Sydney Barnes couldn’t bowl short piched delivery in full flow and fledge as per their captain D Jardin due to spectators’ rage and agitation and also rival’s annoyance by saying it is not cricket. And yes heat and humidity of land Australia also played its role that made these pacers unwell and not fully fitted when played .
Yeah the next name is of Clive Lloyd . Yes the team West Indies was destroyed by the team Australia by 5-1. Yes the terrible, fiery fast bowling by duo Thompson- Lillee shattered ,tattered the West Indians or C Lloyd and company . And C Lloyd returns the Home where in the 1st Test indian team a minnow was defeated as the guest by the host West Indies. But in the third there is eczima in leprosy or itching that the team india shocked the team West Indies when it gave an unbelievable defeat to the host when by chasing a huge target of 404 in the 2nd inning only 2nd in the long history of the game. That incident compelled captain Lloyd to get serious and worried . So he brought four speedsters altogether theory . Yes he takes the defeat as an insult and decides to take by hook or crook but under the rukes. When indian captain BS Bedi and team manager Polly Umrigar complain to have it then Lloyd reacts – I didn’t complaint Australia and it is cricket you have to ready for the blows. Team manager of the West Indies the stalwart C Walcott reacts that as the batsmen you need to be technically sound and perfect. Whether it was a revenge that the inevitable part of the match Ah there was bloodsheds on the pitch, there was injuries but all were under the rule. The bombardment of bouncers and beamers was legitimate at that time . Yes he was right under the match religion that the rival can’t have grace to his opponent. Yes if the fast bowler bowls to a tail ender and the tailender generally the bowler hit the ball mercilessly for four or six then what is about pity and grace. I have seen the worthy clips in this regard when BS Bedi of India hit Jeff Thompson in Australia and already brought india nearer to victory but india missed the great win by only 17 run short because Bhagwad Chandrashekhar the last man got out and Bedi remained not out at the non-striker end. BS Bedi made 17 runs by hitting bowler like J Thompson and think was it possible if J Thompson used his real terrible length and pace. So grace isn’t liable and if the warrior has the weapon he deserves reply by using his weapon. Such as Shane Bond the dreadfully fast was hit by a tailender in an over when he was already sent 8 indian batsmen in the pavilion only in 60 but the bowler batsman Harbhajan Singh of india who had nothing to lose and he just swing the bat to have strike and bat contacted all the time and he hit 5 consecutive 4 on the bowling of S Bond to play non-cricketing strokes to have edges ,nooks, inmiddeled and directionless shots .Yeah at that point S Bond was in terrific mood and was bowling with great power. At that time I see that captain S Flamming was mere watcher and dumb stunner . Being the captain at that time he had to reach and guide S Bond and needed to control the over power and passion again a rough or unspecified batsman. Against that kind of batsman needs to bowl using intelligence . But S Flamming stood up frustrated and monotonous. At that moment he didn’t guide and it was worst captaincy . Rival india was in sheer trouble and lost out 8 wickets only on 70 but 21 runs of violated and frustrated Harbhajan who was preminded to have doctrine Do or die . He had nothing to lose because he was a bowler and before him the bosses were lost out their precious wickets in cheap. So the bad captaincy gave india the chance to reach near 100. Before that moment S Bond took wickets to have his potential but when he was got over power and extreme straighter in place of use intelligence , trick and control he spent his energy and affected his great bowling analysis. And this black stain is registered in the history book and in the visual clip that isn’t believable. But alas it is true. To have wicket striking rate and thrifty average Shane Bond is the ranked 1st in the modern cricket era 1971 to 2021. So this incident gives panick to his fans particularly like me the heavyweight lover of the game.
