Indian Test team is at the tour of England under the captaincy of Virat Kohali and won the 4th Test match by 157 runs and led in the series of 5 Test matches by 2-1. In the Test match India bundled out only on 191 in its 1st innings and the host England replied solidly and gained 99 runs’ handsome lead. But India bounced back strongly and piled up score by making 450 plus. Now at the forth innings England had to chase 368 runs to register victory. And Englaind remained failure to get it and india reached in the cozy and the safer zone that it won’t loss the series at least.Yeah now come on at the pure point that India’s opening batsman Rohit Sharma who made 127 runs in the 2nd innings is adjudged ‘ the man of the match ‘ and many fans and cricket fraternity put this decision in the question by saying that instead of Rohit Sharma Shardul Thakur should be chosen as the man of the player because his performance is emphatic and well in both the innings as the all-rounder . Yeah many a times the jury do this job that raises objection. And much is written about this. As per my knowledge J Boycott who as the judge once adjudged …this while had to adjudge that . But in this fact the section committee always think very deeply and do the best uninamiously but it is the question of fans,critics and cricket fraternity that it mostly raise the objection by pointing this and that according to their view, evaluation or measure. Here Rohit played a magnificent innings of 127 runs in the 2nd innings while in the first innings got out on a thin score of 11 only. Other site the performance of Shardul Thakur looks greater formidable compare to Rohit’s performance. Yes Shardul played a historic innings in the 1st innings and was the highest scorer by making aggressive 57 run . The innings that comprised 7 fours and 3 sixes and made the record by breaking the previous best of Ian Bothom the fastest till the date. Bothom made this feat in 1980 and was record as the fastest fifty on the land of England and the record was unassailable for 40 years but India’s promising all-rounder did it in the daring fashion when india was in trouble . And in the 2nd innings he slammed another fifty and took 1 wicket. In the 1st innings he remained so economical and took 2 wickets by conceding just 22 runs and in which his dismissal of J Root was awesome and that point remained so important and played a big role later because in form Joe Root was the danger- man for india .So undoubtedly Joe Root’s wicket was vital as well as important .Thus his all-rounder performance with the bat and ball remained very weighty but Rohit Sharma been preferred as the man of the match by the jury . Yeah, the question is why the jury preferred Rohit over Shardul ! Yes it is so because Shardul played 57 runs innings but at the tensionless stage because he is a bowling all-rounder and so he played freely. At that stage nothing was to lose for him. In the 2nd innings he was at the same situation because india was in a good condition and was nothing to lose for him. But Rohit played in s very crucial stage because india had to reduce 97 runs lead and was in the much pressure situation but he played against his nature and played very calmfully to handle all pressure and have all patience and made marvelous 127 individual score yes the highest in this particular Test match from both the sides and lost his wicket when he did his responsible job and drew out india from the pressure and put in a very comfortable zone that the successors could bat easily or without pressure and india could make huge score and put an ungettable target for the host . So Rohit Sharma ‘s innings that put foundation of the victory . So in weight Rohit’s innings was heavier than the fifties (57-60) of Shardul. You could bowl well because the rival was in pressure because of huge run chase and you have big total to survive. So these are the factors that parted or supported Rohit and according to the judges the man of the match adjudgement is perfect and unquestionable. For the guest bowlers in the 2nd innings the condition was lighter and they have 291 runs to survive and to see the stats of all the 4 th innings of the particular Test matches not remained easy to get this kind of challenging target or chase. So the batsman Rohit Sharma who snatched out india from the jaw of pressure and defeat and not reduced the 99
runs’ lead but gave up his fight when india had got 150 plus lead that paved the path for the following batsmen and they could play all freely and the team india could set up a defendable total and the bowlers could bowl without pressure and the host batsmen were already in the pressure so the wickets fell in the regular gaps and ultimately india won the match with so easefully . So can say Rohit Sharma played a pivotal role and put india in the driver seat where all the team mates endorsed out and won the match which was axis in the host site for 3 and a half day.
