Jack Hobbs Rest Equally The Greatest With Don!

A Devil’s idea: Is D Bradman Indeed the Greatest Batsman Ever Of the Test Arena?

It is said that Donald Bradman is arguably the greatest batsman ever of the World cricket History. Thought Sir Jack Hobbs has the ample record of most runs , centuries and half centuries but his statistics are higher at the domestic level and in the international cricket arena if the comparison is made with Don Bradman then only Don is proven the real Don of world cricket . The international cricketer is only the perfect and prior dias and platform to compare any great cricketer to the great cricketer. Because it is the highest level available for proving great and greatness. If we observe out both the peers , pivotals and stalwarts of the gentlemen’s game then see the figures of theirs then we would reach on the prior opinion and conclusion. According to me cricket is at any level not easy. Yeah sometimes you get easy bowlers and easy batsman is a different thing but against the tough class bowling you are made out by the bowlers but against cheap class bowlers you get out is the big thing to peep out . Such as the top class batsman get out by great effort but unspecified batsmen award his wicket cheaply . If observe the history that Sunil Gavaskar has only one Test wicket on his name and that is so precious one yeah of Zahir Abbas yes so called The Bradman Of Asii for his ample double centuries or Bradmeansque performance.
Here I do raise a point that Sir Don Bradman can’t be said the greatest. Unanimously the fact is nodded but critic like me isn’t agreed completely yes to have the appropriate reasons. Yes in my sense Sir Jack Hobbs isn’t less than Don if peeps out closely and entirely. . Why ….? Yes I have one prior point behind it and that is the place at which you do bat is a big matter. . I mean the batting number or order or down was different and each batting slot ‘s situation, nature and challenge is followed varied kinds. So the batting order is the big concerned for the critic view. In the matter of these two greats J Hobbs & D Bradman yes to make comparison it is necessary to attend this point majorly. Yeah J Hobbs was the genuine opening batsman and D Bradman was the middle order batsman . Yeah at the opening place batting is bit tougher than the other orders or downs. Why ……. the cricket fraternity knows the fact very well. But I go clear this fact for the neo or nursery generation for their quench and curiosity. Yeah Hobbs was genuine opening batsman and his batting average is 56.94 yeah almost 57 and in that era batting was not ease as today . The wicket was uncovered, limited and qualitiless protective appartuses , boundary was 90 yard , no bouncer limitation and beamer was not barred as today. There was not any restriction on it and the infamous/ famous body- line series is the big example in this respect.. The pitch class was poor so batting conditions were not batsman friendly. So the batting average of J Hobbs 56.94 is so higher in today’s comparison . Sir J Hobbs and Sir D Bradman were not contemporary and represented different era. In each decade the situations get change in the game’s nature. So the era was different of both the pioneers . But this is the thing and we have to conclude to have imaginary view and guess. If Don Brahman would be the opener then might his average be not as high as we read in the cricket history book. In the 1st class cricket Don’s average is bit less , yeah 95.14. Such as J Hobbs’ average 50 plus in the 1st class cricket. But the point to be minded that J Hobbs played in greater numbers than D Bradman. And if Don would play in equal numbers to J Hobbs might be the average would be descended . See Sunil Gavaskar whose century making speed was higher but with the age bit reduced . He took 75 Tests to make 25 hundreds but after it he took away 40 Tests to make 9 centuries. So diminished performance can be seen if the batsman played maximum numbers of the game and the age is also a factor . So to get decisive evaluation we have to adopt some prior logics and norms. Yeah if the batsman is the opener then he must award 30 plus point to be graded the level. Only the batting slot is the prior point and this nature assists highly to classify or measure the rank. So i point out the points to decide greatness. Yeah–

The batting order
2.The batting condition

Bowling attack level

Rivals’ level

The captain’s class and quality

The pitch

The spectators

The place home/abroad

The ball and bat quality

Umpiring

The protective apparatuses

The rules and regulations

The batting partner and tuning

And most requiring fact is the luck

Scaling the batsman on the certained points if the batsman J Hobbs and D Bradman are measured then it might be J Hobbs would rest equal to Don Bradman. For each point there are 100 marks and under scrutiny let see who would rest at the 1st rank and the jinx and illusion is broken that Don is the greatest ever but J Hobbs is by getting the same points under all analysis or the view rests not less than Don .
So conclusion is quite clear that both are the greatest and deserving the 1st rank together. Yeah in statistics Jack Hobbs rests far behind and no batsman of the world has come near to Don Bradman’s stature and feat. Indeed his figures are seemed above the World or of this planet . And indeed the lone legend of the game of cricket. In all the points mr J Hobbs retreats by one mark but gets lead of 13 bonanza on the name of opening slot point and both the angels rest equal. We often say as the critic attitude that figures donot reveal the transparent mirror of persona and such thing might be in the favour of J Hobbs . See the big character of indian stalwart /ace Vijay Merchant who played only 10 Test and it is only the international graph to measure the greatness of the cricketer . And his Test batting average isn’t bad but not plus 50. Yes he has 47.71 batting average and being the opener not bad to measure his era. At the pick of his career he couldn’t tour Australia due to ill health otherwise his average would be uppish but ill luck played its villainous role . It is exposed but hidden point. And when the evaluation is made by the statisticians this hidden thing isn’t attended and minded and if minds then ifs and buts interfere and ultimately the factual matter work in this materialistic world i.e. the figures or statistics. See Vijay Merchant’s batting average is 71.64 in the 1st class level cricket. And this average is the 2nd highest after Don Bradman. To have this great achievement can we underestimate mr Vijay Merchant ? Being fundamental cricketer and lover of my kind no format is easy in my sense . Yes even the gally colony or mohallaa cricket because no batsman wants to award his wicket easily or cheaply and no bowler wants to plunder out the run so it is not true that those figures are fake or not enough to reckon the batsman’s height. Yeah the international level is the highest combating arena and it is the most vital scale ro adjudge the batsman’s greatness. Sometimes you get minnow opponents and you endorse out the opportunity but if you are not a class batsman the hollowness is occurred out or raveled against the tough and mighty rivals. And so yes sometimes the batsman has the big figures at the domestic level like Ravindra Jadeja who is a spinner and a tail ender batsman but he has two triple centuries on his name. Such as technically not perfectionist according to the critics and experts like C Gayle, V Sehwag, S Jaysurya, D Warner have triple hundred on their names and amazing despite the hitter and aggressive batsmen they could reach the feat in the Test. And Karun Nayar was very much destined for a triple in his lone 3rd Test . And despite that triple for which he was very much fateful couldn’t show such spirit and ousted from the national team .
So figures are not truer at all or wholly. The Don is the greatest but once he was hit badly on his arms in a domestic format against the fiery most of that time and the famous indigenous cricketer. He got a great hit and grounded by groaning for a while. And critic point of view it can be said a black stain in your batting technique and the points are lessened to have this big point. But it is custom of the world that only one can be the greatest and Don is the greatest ever and I fully respect and love his feat but after observing the feat of J Hobbs i decided to make discussion and by honouring one of the greatest batsmen I put same with Don . And it is sure by knowing this mr Don would be got so happy because somewhere he would remain his ideal.
